European research ministers have agreed on a legal framework for the establishment of European research infrastructures. The decision paves the way for the creation of world class infrastructures that should help Europe to take the lead in a wide range of research fields.

The conference "New Worlds - New Solutions" in Lund came to an end. For two days, 350 researchers, research funders, business people and politicians have been gathered to discuss the future development of European research.
European Commission SINAPSE - 20 October 2009
On 7th February 2008 the EC adopted a Recommendation on a Code of Conduct for Responsible Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies Research, suggesting a revision after 2 years.
The EC is therefore opening a public consultation in order to receive new inputs from all people and organisations involved or interested by Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies research in Europe.

The Commission is inviting experts as well as the public at large to give their views on the needs for EU action related to nanotechnologies in the next five years.
The consultation is open until 19 February 2010.
